APL's Smokin' Wheels weekend slated April 15-17 at the Guam International Raceway is where to see all the auto-action you can handle. Racers from the Philippines, Japan, America, and beyond meet local drivers handlebar-to-handlebar and bumper-to-bumper in motocross, drifting, drag racing, and more. The highlight of the auto extravaganza is the race that puts APL Smokin’ Wheels on the map: Off-Road Endurance, which sees off-road vehicles from small buggies to full-powered trucks race for three hours on a closed dirt course.
“The 2016 APL Smokin’ Wheels Racing Weekend is on its 34th year, and is the largest and longest running motorsports event in the region,” says event organizer Tom Akigami. “It only happens once a year so people should come out and get a load of the action. Racers from abroad are shipping in their race cars and bikes so it's pretty neat for local enthusiasts to check out.”
