[EIF Recap] Guam's Favorite EDM Festival Returns

October 23, 2016

It was an event filled with glow sticks, body paint, tutus, and of course, EDM. The Electric Island Festival made its way back to Guam for two nights of heavy raving. DJs from across the region were given two stages to work their magic at the Guam International Raceway, and they did just that. The always popular DJ Cookie was one of many international spin doctors getting the crowd turnt, and local DJs like JPogi and Supagi were on hand to make sure their fellow islanders got their fill of EIF’s PLUR vibes.

If this year’s festivities proved anything, it’s that EIF is getting better with age. EIF may have started as a single-staged concert event, but since then it’s snowballed to include the aforementioned double stages, as well as food and drink vendors. For 2016, there were flower crown stations, a live body painting booth, and—for VIPs—a makeup and hair salon to keep attendees at their freshest.

Didn’t make it to EIF? Chances are social media made EIF come to you. With the thousands of people in attendance, Snapchat, Twitter, and Instagram were filled with pics of the island’s hottest dance party. We at UNO Magazine, of course, have some great (and even some wild) snapshots of those magical nights in June. Thanks to the hashtag #EIF2016 our fans were able to submit photos of their night at the festival. Because we’re so cool, we’ve shared some of our favorites right here. Oh, and speaking of sharing social media pics, you know you can follow UNO on Snapchat (@UnoGuam), Twitter (@unomagazineguam), and Instagram (@unomagazineguam), right?

Without a doubt, EIF was a blast. This is the kind of event that is definitely Guam at its best. It’s even an event worth traveling to Guam for. And it’s certainly one worthy of a ton of retweets.
