What does Tyler the Creator, Frank Ocean, Kanye West, Chris Brown, Whiz Khalifa, A$AP Rocky, John Mayer, Pharrell Williams, Drake, and Kylie Jenner have in common? Well, aside from being celebrities, obviously, they have also been caught in public wearing Supreme clothing at one time or another. And then there’s Japanese Instagrammer Miho Umeboshi, who has taken the Supreme love to a new level, dedicating her whole account to the brand and boasting a collection of about a thousand Supreme box logo items.
For those who may have been living under a rock, Supreme is a skateboarding shop and clothing brand founded in New York City in 1994, catering to skateboarding, hip hop, and punk rock cultures. It has become quite popular among the young crowds, with tis clothes and accessories, as well as skateboards hailed as modern art and are therefore collected by avid fans.
Perhaps, what makes Supreme products a must-have is because they don’t release their new collections all at once, but instead “drop” 5 to 15 of their items at a time online and in stores every Thursday. This strategy maintains the hype that surrounds every new product. The brand has also collaborated with other big names such as Nike, Air Jordan, Vans, The North Face, Levi’s, and Louis Vuitton among others.
For Miho, the fact that Supreme collections are big for her size does not prevent her from being stylish. “It still looks good on me,” she says during an interview with Hypebae. “The thing I care about most is ‘balance,’ which is why I have so many collections and sizes to coordinate with.
Speaking of style, Miho follows her “Double Box” rule when it comes to wearing Supreme. “I don’t wear box logo top and box logo cap together,” she reveals in the same interview.
