Travel + Style ✈︎

October 30, 2017 Ana Vuki

For these two icons and influencers, there's never an end to being stylish even when they're traveling.

ICON: Shay Mitchell

Destination:  Bali, Indonesia ✈︎  🌏 🇮🇩

Style: Bohemian Chic

Shay Mitchell is one of my favorite style icons because she's mastered the art of looking chic on vacation. Although her Bali "Shaycation" took place two years ago, her style lessons from that trip remain timeless. Shay's style in general is amazing, but her trip to Bali in 2015 stood out to me because her looks were youthful, bold, and fun.

What to Pack:

Black and white printed pants, jumpsuits, or rompers. These are classic vacation pieces that you can easily accessorize with pops of color.

A bright printed maxi skirt. If you want to be a little extra, get one that has embroidery or embellishments.

Swimsuits. Take a bright printed one piece or a bright colored bikini. These are perfect for relaxing by the pool or beach, and the prints are a lovely reminder to relax because you're on vacation.

ICON: Adam Gallagher

Destination:  Tokyo, Japan  ✈︎ 🌏 🇯🇵

Style: Modern Casual Minimalist

Adam Gallagher is a men's style blogger and influencer that I found through Instagram. He seems to travel quite frequently around the world and he uses styling and photography as a medium to  tell his travel stories.  Adam's travel look books are crafted with ingenious storytelling that seriously looks like a GQ fashion editorial, check out his Cuba visual diary. He drew inspiration from the 50s decade and added an element of old-time gangster against the backdrop of Havana. One of my favorites is Tokyo because he pieced together casual, minimalist outfits that highlighted the energy and serenity of the city.

What to Pack:

Dark denims. Whether it's a dark denim jacket or classic fit jeans, this is a classic, crisp look that works for the amount of exploring (aka walking) you'll be doing in Tokyo. Add a pair of bold framed glasses and all-white sneakers.

A classic checked suit with a floral tie is perfect for seeing the Cherry Blossoms, but this isn't a necessity. You can easily pair a white dress shirt with a grey cardigan or hoodie for a modern take.

A classic bomber jacket can be paired with black jeans and black leather boots or sneakers. Bomber jackets are the perfect piece to have in your closet simply because of their functional style. You can get a modern bomber that work for a casual day at the office, or you can go with a more traditional style also known as a flight jacket.

This nylon flight jacket from Schott NYC has patches that evoke a sense of a seasoned traveler. Bonus points because it has Guam in the back.
